Promotional Photos
Photos taken for the purpose of advertisement. The Pump Up the Jam poster on the first slide was made to advertise an adult dance party experience hosted by Pump House Regional Arts Center. This poster was a collaborative project between me, and two other members of the Pump House staff. I took the photograph that was used for the background of the poster. I was prompted to take a photo that showed the disco ball reflecting light, was semi-abstract, have negative space for the text to sit in, and to try out different light colors. Me and the staff member in charge of the event set up the disco ball, lights, and smoke machine. After I took and edited the photographs, we reviewed them together and selected the image that best suited the poster’s needs. Then, we passed the photo onto another staff member who placed the text onto the image, completing the poster.
The photographs on the second slide are other photos that were considered for the poster.
This advertisement was made to promote Liquid Death brand energy drinks with the intention of being used on social media and hung up in public spaces. I took the base photo of the drink cans using flash photography in a studio setting. I utilized practical effects to create water droplets, blue lighting, and smoke.
After slightly adjusting the colors in Adobe Lightroom, I brought the photograph into Photoshop to create the image composition and add the text. I chose to add an ocean and a ghost because they relate to the brand’s name.
The second slide is the raw photo and the assets I used for the composite. All assets are royalty free.
