Bloodroot Trails
Book cover designsBloodroot Trails is a fake horror adventure novel that I created the concept for and designed the covers of.
Every aspect of the book cover was intentional. I used an earthy color-palette to visually communicate that the story takes place outdoors. The roughed paper was created from a royalty free image of a graph paper notebook that I distressed in photoshop. The damaged paper reflects the events of the novel. I took the landscape photograph on the back cover and edited it to look like a classic polaroid photograph, giving the book a timeless look. I did research on publishing standards to ensure that I used a sufficient font and text size. The tree branches on the front cover are a royalty free image that I edited in photoshop to give them that familiar, yet off putting look that common things have in the dark.
